Looking back at this year in golf as it has flown by and I always want to make some changes going into the new season. Learning from changes of my body, improving in areas that need work and always the desire to play more. Lets look at some changes regarding equipment and rounds played. Backstory of 2025 and some recommended product that I use.
Golf Equipment Purchased
Last year around September, I was able to purchase some used irons of an older caliber but not to old. I am trying these out but have yet to play since I purchased them. You know how kids, work, life just keep you from having the time to get out there and play. I work construction and in August 2025, I was sent to a job site that demanded more attention. Regardless, I purchased a nice mint set of Wilson D7 Irons. Here is the tea on them, D7 6-PW, Recoil 460 Graphite Shafts. Yes they are older but I have been searching for something to help with my game.
Old Set: I was using the Cobra LTDx that I purchased used which was suppose to be forgiving and help improve my game – They infact did not help this guy and I was not able to hit the ball straight, or at times even get the ball air born just a little and they actually made me want to quit rounds a lot so a change was needed.
Second Purchase: Tour Edge TGS Wedge Set, 52, 56, 60. It was time to upgrade the first set I purchased off ebay which was some really old Tom Watson wedges. I have been getting better with wedges and at under $100 for the set new I splurged. I have also yet to use these as I purchased both the Wilson D7 and these tour edge at the same time. Time will tell if they are an improvement.
Golf Rounds Played in 2025

I played my fair share of rounds in 2025 and still do not think it was enough. 2-3 rounds at Pine Crest, 3-4 at Eagle Point, 1 at Dolphin Head(Nice Course), 1 at Crescent Point. I feel like I am forgetting some courses I played at but I did not play as much in 2025 as I did in 2024. I am hoping in 2026 I can turn that around and play 20-30 rounds. Not having a membership anywhere and I get to play some great courses since I live in South Carolina near Hilton Head.
Premier golf courses in the area are available year round with lush greens and welcoming faces. Just depends on how much you want to spend on a round current prices for Dolphin head is around $106 a round. Usually, this guy with house and cars tries to stay in the $50-$70 range while going out for a trip.
